Within 5 to 6 seconds of landing on your website, can your visitors determine what your company does? Could users easily navigate to the service pages if they have to buy or see? is that the layout of your packages easy to understand?
If you find a big "NO" then it might be time to take a hard look at the way you’ve been designing and optimizing your website.
1. Plan to focus your audience
I must say planing may be a kind of plain research. Don't just start designing your website. to make sure that your website is effectively meeting the requirements of your visitors you would like to design your buyer's journey from the primary time they visit your website to the instant they become a customer.
What pages are they aiming to view, what content are they about to read, and what offers are they going to convert on? Understanding this may assist you to design a site that helps nurture leads through the sales funnel.
2. Add social media links/buttons
If your website currently lacks social share buttons, you'll be missing out on tons of social media traffic that's generated from people already reading your blog or web content!
If you do not know about this, social sharing buttons are the little buttons that are round the top or bottom of the website pages. They contain icons of various social media websites and permit you to share the page directly on the social media channel of your choice.
These buttons act as a tool that encourages social sharing from your buyer persons.
3. Implement calls-to-action
Once your customers land on your site, do they know what to try and do next? they won't know what pages to look at or actions to require if you do not provide them with some kind of direction.
Call to action buttons are one among the various elements that indicate future step users should take on a page. While many people know that, it may be easy to fail to accurately use them to guide users through your website.
Some example call to actions is to "click here for more information"," download our sample GamePlan", "register for a webinar", "watch the video", "see all inbound marketing services", "contact us", "see pricing, etc.
4. Never stop testing
Define conversion paths, how far users scroll, and where they're clicking, etc, are important qualities that will reveal if your pages are performing the way you wanted. If you're someone that has plenty of pages to go through, chances are high that you'll find this issue on tons of pages, especially older web pages.
Others may need some tweaking updates or design changes. Simple changes like button colors, headers, or adding a couple of sentences in your copy could make incredible differences within the page's performance.
But instead of changing them and set them on their way, especially if you do not know what to vary, you'll use tools to make A/B tests for them, multi-variant tests, or maybe found out heat maps to ascertain what users do.
Each test can reveal more a spread of knowledge that identifies why users are interacting with pages especially ways.
5. Mobile optimization
Hey, This is a mobile era, Don't forget about optimizing your site for mobile. If you don’t already know, 80% of internet users own a smartphone, and "Google says 61% of users are unlikely to return to a mobile site that they had trouble accessing and 40% visit a competitor’s site instead".
It’s a necessity to tailor your site to suit the requirements and desires of your visitors.
